The Solway Tapestry weavers have their show at The Stove. I had the pleasure of doing a workshop for them it was lovely to be askedWeaving the Decade: An Exhibition by Solway Tapestry WeaversThis month, The Stove Cafe are sharing an exhibition celebrating the tenth anniversary of Solway Tapestry Weavers. This is an opportunity for group members to show their skills as tapestry weavers who create their own designs. The exhibition is hosted in the cafe as part of The Stove’s Conversing Building programme, supporting visual and public arts programming in and around the Stove building. Hope to see your lovely faces there 💞We're delighted to announce the exhibitors for this year's Upland made, where visitors can enjoy 40 stands packed with handmade art and craft at Easterbrook Hall, Dumfries on the weekend of 2 & 3 November.The event is a great opportunity to find hand-made and individually created pieces from some of the finest artists and makers in Dumfries & Galloway.Among them are painters and printmakers such as Ailsa Black and Colin Blanchard, potters including Clare Dawdry and Fitch & McAndrew and Jay Rubinstein with his spectacular wooden mobiles.Five makers are new to Upland made this year, including ceramicist Frances Ross, jewellery-maker Gabrielle Reynolds, and Sue MacNiven, who creates textiles, but also hand-painted tiles, buttons and greetings cards.Check out the full list here: www.weareupland.com/news/upland-made-participants-announced-04092024This year Upland made is funded by Creative Scotland and delivered in collaboration with Easterbrook Hall and OutPost Arts.Image: Kirstin McEwan ...
