I have to draw and paint before I can weave my tapestries that’s how it all starts. Very often I don’t weave a whole painting but I zoom into a part of a painting. This simplifies it for me as I seem to be unable to do that alone. I always want to paint an uncomplicated work but end up adding and adding. So I choose sections I like then weave from them this has always been my process and how I was taught at art school![]()

I have just been given the gorgeous news that I have SOLD this tapestry @whitehousegalleryscotland thank you Lynne . Reaching the top has been exulting but also sore. The first photo is my scaffold loom and I have had to push the bar up ( not gracefully but by bashing it with a spanner) to let out some tension. My warps were so tight I had blisters forming on the tips of my fingers. ![]()

I am only at the top on the right hand side and now I have gravitated to sitting on top of a table you can see I can have all my yarns and bobbins right there with me yay. ![]()
My writing is complete however this is my second attempt as I felt some text was too large. I really wanted it to blend in and be small even although I still wanted my words to be read and noticed does that makes sense? ![]()
Tapestry really is a commitment and I started this big one last August. I plan to complete her by April and maybe before.
