New show starts on the 28th March at Mclaurin Gallery, Ayr. ![]()
This is Visual Arts Scotland exhibition and my tapestry ‘Auld Stones And Thin Places’ will be there alongside other visual artists work. ![]()
This piece was inspired by the chambered cairn called Cairn Holy near my home in Scotland’ s south west. The pillars stand strong holding the weight above telling the story of the people who came before us. I also think I was feeling the people who stand with us now ![]()

Well this tapestry has ended up on the cover of this book. Although it’s the German publication I was honoured that my work was chosen. Well done @hanserliteratur for choosing a Scottish tapestry weaver relating to the subject of the book. This tapestry is 90x150cms a big one for me and completed last year. It was hard blooming work but it all paid off as I love it. She is called ‘I Am Here’ and is primarily about my journey through illness. ![]()
She took a lot out of me and is presently the last abstract tapestry to date since my subject matter changed to weaving little portraits of females. ![]()
