I am always a bit anxious when I share my work with you. These are very different weavings from my usual subject matter but I believe there’s room for both in my head. I just do too much thinking and so I love to get my feelings onto paper in the form of paintings then onto my loom before my brain bursts ! ![]()
It’s not enough to paint for me I just need to take my designs further into tapestry. God forbid I make it easy for myself that’s just not me. It feels so much more as a tapestry. So difficult weaving feaures on 2 warps eek!![]()

I have been enjoying creating these small woven portraits. I call them offerings and tokens something to have to remember. This one is woven from my painting of my daughter’s face.![]()
I started and re started the face about 3 times. So difficult to weave an expression on one or two warps eek! ![]()
I guess that’s why she doesn’t look exactly like my painting. I think that’s what I like about my portraits - they become their own person. It’s always lovely to see who will appear on my loom. ![]()
I reckon if I weave larger pieces it would be easier to capture the face. Something to think about 😉![]()
